Howard Spellman's in-depth understanding of information systems, combined with his energy industry and business knowledge gained over the past 20 years, positions him as a leader in the development of energy-related information systems. At Coleman | Hines, he is directly responsible for the development of products and services targeted to existing and new client segments. He also supports business expansion and client acquisition, and manages information systems and technology (IT).

Joining the Coleman | Hines leadership team in 2002, Howard has drawn from client input and solid industry experience to implement a family of new subscription services aimed at multi-site energy consumers. He also provides business analysis and pricing input for Coleman | Hines.

Howard's understanding of both physical and financial energy markets has allowed him to negotiate electricity and natural gas contracts resulting in millions of dollars of direct savings for clients.

His direct business experience spans many industries including restaurants, manufacturing aerospace, insurance, financial acquisitions, and government. Howard has received numerous awards, of which two are the San Diego Business Journal “Excellence in Energy Management Award” and the SDG&E “Customer Leadership Award.”

Howard has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Institute for Multi-site Energy Consumers (IMEC), and as a member of the Association of Energy Engineers (AAE).

His outside interests include golf and music.
